People seek out marriage and family therapy when they are faced with challenges in their relationships, raising children, and problems involving extended family and friends. Adopting a relationship perspective, family therapists do not negate the significance of individual intra-psychic of human relationships, or the family social system. In a survey of clients from 526 marriage and family therapists: 98% rated services as good or excellent 97% got the kind of help they desired 91% were satisfied with the amount of help they received 93% said they were helped in dealing more effectively with problems 97% would recommend their therapist to a friend 97% were generally satisfied with the service they received 63% reported improved physical health 74% indicated improvement in children’s behavior 59% showed improvement in children’s school performance If you are currently experiencing a challenging situation with your immediate, or extended, family it might be worth considering the kind of professional support marriage and family counseling can provide. |
